We use Google Analytics to understand page visits and improve this guide. There is no registration or backend account database.
Site analytics
Google Analytics receives usage information such as pages visited, device and browser details, approximate location and referral information. It uses first-party cookies to distinguish visits. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled. We do not send your checklist or contact email to Analytics. Page URLs sent by our tag exclude query strings and fragments.
You can block analytics using your browser privacy controls or the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. See Google’s privacy policy for details.
Your checklist
The optional starter checklist uses localStorage under sift-checklist-v1 on this device. No checklist data is sent to a server. Use “Reset checklist” to clear it, or clear this website’s browser storage. In private or restricted browsers, persistence may be unavailable.
Images and videos
Official screenshots and YouTube thumbnails load from third-party hosts when displayed, which exposes ordinary request information such as your IP address to those hosts. A YouTube player is created only when you click play or a chapter. The privacy-enhanced domain does not mean that no data is exchanged.
Direct video and source links open external websites with their own policies. The site uses a strict-origin-when-cross-origin referrer policy; an external host can receive this site’s origin.
Hosting and contact
The deployment provider may process ordinary HTTP access logs. This static code does not implement a separate log database. Email sent to the operator is handled by the operator’s mail service.
